 Primary Research

Pot Noodle Advert Questionnaire Responses

I have lost access to the original Questionnaire, but this is the document explaining what the responses summarized and their thoughts on the Pot Noodle advert and how I used that information to develop and reflect on my own work. This questionnaire was incredibly helpful in learning how to conduct a questionnaire and how I could improve my advert. It is a good example of Primary Research as I ask relevant questions about my advert and how it reflects the target audience, and I am able to learn much more information about my advert I wouldn't of known before the research.

This was a documentary where I recorded different interviews from 4 separate people about their experience with video games. This is a good example of Primary Research as I asked my interviewees questions about the topic, and let them speak freely. I conducted my own research, by writing my own questions, and purely referring and including the responses I researched and recorded by my interviewees. Their responses were articulate, and varied in opinions, as well as I had a varied group of people I was interviewing to get a broad spectrum of thoughts from different target audiences.

Secondary Research

Unilever Presentation + Research

This presentation is a good example of secondary research, as to come to my conclusions and findings of this work I use websites, reviews and the Pot Noodle ads themselves to develop and expand my knowledge on the Pot Noodle advertising. This research also helped me come to my own conclusions about where else to take the advertising and allowed me to expand on my project.

Guinness Advert Research

This is an analysis of the advertisement by Guinness, where I analyze the use of everything in this advert to draw conclusions about their target audience and how they were able to draw their attention with this advert. This is a good example of secondary research as I applied my current knowledge about Guinness, and then used that to analyze the advert, learning about how to draw a target audience via an advert that I could apply to my own advert filming and planning.

Film Production Research

This is research and inspiration I collected for my Film Script concept. Here I look at other forms of media, real world events and I also wrote a bit about commissioning bodies. This is a good example of secondary research, as I detail and analyze different medias to inspire my own creation, and I summarize why I have used it. Doing this allows me to compile research and accounts from real world people and events that I wasn't there for to create a unique and grounded idea.

Quantitative Research

Questionnaire Quantitative Responses Flipbook

This was a questionnaire created for my Games Development course where I was questioning people about their experience and opinions about the video game Red Dead Redemption 2. This is a good example of Quantitative Research as it puts all of my numerical findings into percentages and graphs, so I can map out and clearly categorize people based on their responses, which then help me to clearly see what people think at a quick glance.

Qualitative Research

Pot Noodle Questionnaire Responses

I have lost access to the original Questionnaire, but this is the document explaining what the responses summarized and their thoughts on the Pot Noodle advert and how I used that information to develop and reflect on my own work.  This questionnaire was incredibly helpful, and is a good example of Qualitative research as it shows detailed opinions from the recipients and the main focus is on their opinions and thoughts about the advert, giving us short and long reviews about it. This was helpful as it allowed me to have a more in depth understanding on what each person thought about our advert and how it impacted them.

Market & Audience Research

Unilever Presentation + Research

This was a presentation made to explain my idea behind a rebranding of Pot Noodle by analyzing the current target audience of Pot Noodle, and how to change this target audience and potentially how to appeal to them. This is a good example of Market and Audience research, as I spend time categorizing the target audience, and analyzing who is being targeted by this advert and how it manages to achieve that, then I apply those principles in how to attract my own target audience within my own advert creation. This was helpful as I could look back on this, and use it as a reference point about the decisions to make for my advert to help attract the target demographic.

Film Production Research

This is research and inspiration I collected for my Film Script concept. Here I look at other forms of media, real world events and I also wrote a bit about commissioning bodies. This is a good example of Market and Audience research as I analyze what other products have already been made within the market and why I wish to take inspiration from them. Knowing what already exists, and how they attracted the target audience I am aiming for was critical in fleshing out the idea for my script, and how I could use what has already been created and published to influence my concept and help it stick out from the crowd.

Production Research

Preproduction of the project Depict

This is the Pre-Production documents and planning for my Depict project, where I analyzed which each document was for, and how I was able to use it. This is a good example of Production Research, as we had to research and analyze how we were going to make this project a reality, for example working out prices, the risks involved, and the shots used.
